Situated at Touliao, Dasi Presidential
Burial Place was formerly named Touliao Guesthouse
which was constructed by Retired Servicemen Engineering
Agency and completed on July 17, 1962. Upon completion
the building was not used for any special purpose
except that the late President Jiang, Jieshih and
Mr. Jiang, Jingguo would come here to discuss national
affairs. It was later transformed into the Presidential
Office Archives to keep some important documents
and collect precious documents concerning the lifetime
achievements of the late President Jiang.
Mr. Jiang, Jingguo passed away on January 13, 1988
and his coffin was temporarily placed here on the
30th of the same month. The guesthouse was then
renamed Dasi Presidential Burial Place and the administration
office thereof was changed into Cihhu-Dasi Presidential
Burial Place Administration Office undertaking the
responsibility for receiving visitors, management
and maintenance. As Dasi Presidential Burial Place
is not far from Cihhu Presidential Burial Place,
it fulfills Mr. Jiang, Jingguo?s wish to follow
and attend the late President Jiang.
The Memorial Room of Mr. Jiang, Jingguo was set
up in the place on October 24, 1996. With interior
decoration completely resembling the original one,
the memorial room is transplantation of Mr. Jiang,
Jingguo?s office in the Presidential Office and
is open to the public. An average of approximately
1 million visitors comes here to pay his respects
to the late president every year. |

RC structure. With red tiles and black walls and
surrounded by gardens the architectural layout resembles
that of Cihhu Presidential Burial Place. There are
a patio and a veranda with square columns inside
the building. At the back of both wings there are
verandas as well. Additionally, the main hall and
both wings have large window-doors leading to the
outdoor for convenience of evacuation in case of
an emergency.
The main hall keeps the coffin of Mr. Jiang, Jingguo
with Mrs. Jiang?s bedroom on its left and a medal
room on its right. Other spaces include his family?s
private bedrooms, studies and the dining room. One
the left of the hallway there is the Memorial Room
of Mr. Jiang, Jingguo and on the right the reception
personnel?s office. Behind the patio located
between the right wing and the halls there are service
spaces such as the kitchen and storerooms. |
